Poetto Paradise: Kiters return to one of their favourite beaches
The world’s fastest kiteboarders are launching their kites in Cagliari in the south of Sardinia for Kitefoil World Series Italy. Taking place from 11 to 15 October, the international riders love competing out of Poetto Beach on the south coast of the spectacular Italian island in the Mediterranean. Even so late in the European season the air temperature will be in the high 20s Celsius and the water still warm enough for riding in a shorty wetsuit.

Kitefoilers ready for freshwater challenge in Austria
Riders are ready for four days of freshwater competition on Lake Traunsee where they're about to start competing in KiteFoil World Series Austria. Wednesday's breeze picked up for some good training sessions on the 12km-long lake near Salzburg, although even women’s World Champion Lauriane Nolot went for a swim in her early session. “It was getting pretty light and I went for a tack and then didn’t quite manage to stay up. EJ edges it
Ejder ‘EJ’ Ginyol had been playing catch-up all week in the Masters' Worlds, after a poor opening day. The Turkish rider finally came good in the last race, finishing second while the front runner all week, Billy Guy-Maupas from France, could only manage 9th in the fading breeze. Ginyol won the world title by two points, with Guy-Maupas second and the Grand Masters world champion James Johnsen from Denmark also taking third overall. Thailand’s Benyapa Jantawan won the women’s Masters fleet, with Monika Zizlavska from the Czech Republic in second and Claire Morel from France in third.
